Sarah Greenberg, YOF High School
Growing up in the Yeshivah of Flatbush community has helped Sarah Greenberg foster a deep passion for learning and leadership, as well as instilled within her strong family and religious values that she will uphold for a lifetime. Sarah played on the girls’ varsity basketball team and served on Flatbush High School’s Senior Council, where she organized the seniors’ activities throughout the past year. She devoted hours of her time throughout the year to helping others, including organizing programs such as the biannual blood drive and Yachad programs for the whole school. Her love for learning and desire to grow in her Judaic knowledge stemmed from her favorite class -- Inquiry Beit Midrash. Different from the regular classroom environment, this class enabled her to question the basis of the texts, probing the things that were always accepted as true and analyzing them to eventually come up with her own conclusions. Sarah hopes to continue to learn and to strengthen her religious values at Midreshet Moriah next year and through the Allegra Franco program.
Alison Mudick, YOF High School

Alison Mudick grew up in a religion-centered community, where her passion for Judaism prospered. From secular to Judaic studies, she enjoys challenging notions and inspiring stories. Her love for learning especially prospered this year while learning Bereshit with her beloved teacher, Mrs. Harcsztark. This enabled her to integrate different aspects of the Torah into her every-day life and allow it to influence her Jewish values. Throughout Alison’s twelve years at Flatbush, she has cultivated deep and meaningful relationships, whether from being in Flatbush High School’s witness theater program or as head advisor on freshman seminar. Creating these relationships with her teachers, mentors, and peers facilitated her passion for learning and encouraged her to ask thought-provoking questions. Alison’s thirst for knowledge and genuine desire to ask questions flourish as she studies Torah. Her love of religion will continue to grow through acts of chesed, devoting her time to helping others, and next year while studying in Midreshet Moriah.
Ruth Derzie
Ruthy was born into a religious and learning-oriented community in Brooklyn. She attended Yeshivah of Flatbush Elementary School and High School. Through her four years of high school, Ruthy enhanced her love for Torah and Mitzvot through after school activities, such as learning in the Beit Midrash with her favorite Judaic teachers. Ruthy is constantly looking for new opportunities to learn as much as she can, which resulted in her devotion to finding different approaches to religious inquiries. Ruthy's strong foundation in Judaic studies allowed her to understand and undertake challenging notions. Ruthy frequently searches for different perspectives in order to facilitate her growth and understanding. After Ruthy learned with the Allegra Franco program in her high school, she is excited to continue her journey with them while attending Midreshet Moriah in Israel.
