ARTS EXTRACURRICULARS
HEBREW PLAY: Each year we produce a full musical - in Hebrew! Participating in this play will earn you 5 points on your final hebrew grade! Come audition for High School Musical on September 9th and 12th during your lunch in the auditorium. No prior performance experience necessary. Rehearsals 2-3x per week during lunch. This program is under the direction of Ms. Sally Shatzkes.
CHOIR: For all students who enjoy singing, the famous Flatbush choir is the place to be! This large group of students has a blast together and performs throughout the year at different events. Choir rehearses once a week after school. Under the direction of Mr. Ricky Sasson.
AUDIO VISUAL SQUAD (AV): This group is for students who are interested in sound/lighting/video. The AV squad runs all events and programs in the school that need media. As part of AV you will receive training to learn to operate our AV equipment and you will be assigned to work on different events and programs throughout the year. This program is under the direction of Mr. Seth Dimbert.
TRAVELING TROUPE: This group of students travels to perform music, theater, song and dance for senior citizens in local community centers. Sign ups go out each month. This program is under the direction of Ms. Janet Pichotto.
LUNCH ‘N LISTEN: This is a monthly event for students to perform for their peers during lunch at the cafe. Sign ups go out each month. Under direction of Ms. Janet Pichotto.
MASTERPIECE THEATER: Masterpiece theater is a program in which students attend various out-of-school cultural events, such as Broadway shows, operas and musical concerts. For each event, students will meet for a pre and post session. Program is under the direction of Ms. Janet Pichotto and is open to 10th-12th graders. SPRING PLAY: This is a comedic or dramatic production offered in the Spring. Open to all students. Under the direction Ms. Shelly Kaplowitz. Auditions will take place right before Winter Break.
