Communications Associate
Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; Friday 8:00 am - 1:30 pm; evenings and Sundays as needed.

Position summary:
The Communications Associate strategizes, coordinates and maintains the Yeshivah's social media, mobile app and website presences. The Associate also assists with special projects and publications as needed.


  • Maintain social media guidelines, strategy and plan.
  • Develop and manage social media campaigns. Create and post engaging social media messages.
  • Suggest strategies to improve social media engagement based on qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Take mission-oriented photographs.
  • Update and maintain website and mobile app.
  • Assist with special projects and publications as needed. 


  • 1 - 2 years of related work experience or study. Liberal arts background with technical savvy welcome.
  • Fluency in English. Basic proficiency in Hebrew helpful (basic reading and writing).
  • Expertise in social media platforms, trends and best practices.
  • Experience updating a website and/or app or ability to learn a new technical platform quickly.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Graphics ability a plus.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Good organizational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to work as a team member and as an independent contributor.

To provide administrative and clerical support for the Director of Informational and Instructional Technology and Director of Finance.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and create spreadsheets (inventory, software lists, hardware, etc.)
  • Maintaining filing systems
  • Photocopying, scanning and email
  • Purchasing

 Assist in obtaining quotes from vendors
 Create and Send Purchase Orders
 Scanning orders to vendors
 Tracking orders, delivery and payment
 Copies of all billing and filing
 Submitting paperwork to Finance Department for payment

  • Organizing and scheduling appointments
  • Type, proof read Summer Professional Development Booklet and prepare for printing
  • Organizing and coordinating meetings
  • Receiving, sorting and distributing incoming mail
  • Preparing and sending outgoing mailings and packages
  • Coordinating work flow of paper work
  • Monitoring and ordering inventory of office supplies
  • Assist in preparing STEM materials (packets) for classes
  • Assist in copying/emailing materials for professional development sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of relevant software applications including MS Office, GMAIL
  • Proficient in use of email and internet
  • Accurate keyboard skills
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent
