Religious Growth

Four years at Yeshivah of Flatbush play a formative role in the religious growth and development of our students. Classroom learning and extracurricular experiences challenged students to grow through deep understanding of Torah, strong connections with Halakhah and meaningful relationships with mentors and role models. Uniquely Flatbush experiences such as Seminar, Rosh Chodesh Rikkudim, and the Bet Midrash Program cultivate spirituality and inspire life-long love for and devotion to Torah and Mitzvot.

Bet Midrash Progam

Every Tuesday evening, students from each grade come together in pairs or groups to learn in the Ben Haim Bet Midrash. Led by many of the school's rabbis and teachers, the groups engage in an in-depth exploration of contemporary relevant issues as reflected in classical Torah sources.

Mishmar

Every Thursday night boys and girls from all grade levels join together to enjoy learning Torah, using the weekly parashah or an upcoming holiday as a springboard for further discussion. The participants use this time to explore Jewish themes in a deep and meaningful way as well as an open forum to ask questions. The goal of Mishmar is for students to see and appreciate the Torah in a new light and understand its relevancy in today’s world.

Seminar

At the Yeshivah of Flatbush each grade experiences their own unique seminar which is a Shabbat/weekend retreat at a hotel. These seminars are created to imbue a greater love of Judaism and a greater connection to Am Yisrael, enable students to develop leadership skills and nurture critical thinking, and to reinforce the sense of family and community. These seminars offer our students a chance to bond in an out-of-school setting and to discuss issues that typically affect students their age with fellow classmates and teachers.
