High School Guidance

The High School Guidance Department is invested in the academic, social, and emotional development of our students as they transition into young adulthood. Each student is a whole person, with different abilities, talents and perspectives and we are committed to supporting each individual to achieve success and find fulfillment during these four important years.

Our Guidance team understands that collaboration is essential. We work closely with our students, parents, teachers, and administrators to help our students have the best possible experience throughout high school. Open communication and teamwork are the foundation for every interaction.

Though high school is an exciting time filled with boundless opportunity, it also includes new challenges, whether academic, social, or family related. Our goal is to provide a safe, confidential space in which students can share, gain support, and develop the skills to cope with their experiences. The Yeshivah firmly believes that all students need their own personal advocate as they navigate various aspects of teenage life. Each incoming freshman has an individual meeting with a member of our team at the start of the school year, which establishes a relationship that grows as our students progress through high school.

The Guidance Department also runs interactive programs on topics that affect teens today, such as technology, kindness, substance use, relationships, and body image. Additionally, each high school class has a weekly SAFE period in which girls and boys separately meet with our teachers. These classes offer a group forum in which students can openly discuss current issues that impact their lives. The Guidance Department also runs a Peer Tutoring program, through which students can request tutoring and/or become a tutor. Volunteer tutors receive chesed hours. To learn more about peer tutoring click here. Our students are engaged in many creative and educational programs that offer them leadership initiatives and opportunities to work with their classmates, older peers, guidance counselors and faculty.

We look forward to sharing this exciting journey through four years of high school with you. Please call us  with any questions or concerns.
