FINANCIAL AID

11th Grade: Using Financial Aid Cost Calculators

All colleges and universities offer a calculator feature on their website that allows families to input their specific financial information and receive an estimate of their financial aid package from that institution. These calculators live on each college website and are called Net Price Calculators.

For selective colleges/universities, families can use the MyIntuition Calculator.

12th Grade: Filling out Financial Aid Forms

Families are required to submit financial aid applications to the colleges to which their children are applying. Due dates for financial aid forms vary from school to school and it is the responsibility of the family to submit in a timely manner.

To apply for federal aid, families will complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

To apply for state financial aid, families will complete the TAP Application.

To apply for financial aid from selective colleges, families will complete the CSS Profile.

STANDARDIZED TESTING

Colleges remain largely test optional for graduating seniors. This means that students have the option of whether they want to submit their SAT or ACT test score(s) to the colleges they are applying to.

For a list of test-optional colleges, click here.

For a list of test-required colleges, click here.

The submission of test scores will depend on a variety of factors including academic performance, rigor of student program, extracurricular involvement and more. College counselors will advise students individually on whether submission of test scores is in their best interest.
