EXTRACURRICULARS

Encore Music Program

Our Lower School music program begins in the classroom, where students build a strong foundation through a hands-on, interactive curriculum. Children actively explore rhythm, melody, and instruments, developing musical skills, creativity, and confidence by playing and learning together.

After school, students can extend their musical experience through our YOF ensembles. YOF Rock Band offers the chance to rehearse and perform rock and pop music in a band setting, while YOF Winds introduces students to instruments like saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, and trombone in a collaborative ensemble. Together, these opportunities create a dynamic and inspiring musical journey for our students.

Robotics Team

CIJE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing Jewish education by integrating innovative, hands-on STEM learning experiences. Through its Computer Science and Logic Skills (CSLS) program, CIJE gives students the chance to sharpen their problem-solving, teamwork, and engineering skills through exciting robotics and coding challenges.

Throughout the year, our young engineers will design, build, and program their own robots in preparation for two thrilling Yeshivah League competitions against other local Jewish day schools.

While this program is currently exclusive to 4th and 5th graders, we look forward to expanding in the coming years to include a middle school robotics team.

Brooklyn Fine Arts

In partnership with the Brooklyn Arts Council, our after-school arts program offers 4th and 5th grade students a unique opportunity to explore creativity through hands-on classes in Digital Filmmaking and Mixed Media. Led by professional Artists in Residence and supported by our school’s teachers, students engage in dynamic, small-group sessions designed to inspire artistic expression and cultural appreciation. Open to both boys and girls, participation is determined by lottery due to limited class sizes, ensuring an intimate experience for each student. Thanks to the support of a grant from Councilman Kalman Yeger’s office, the program is offered free of charge, making this an accessible and valuable opportunity for our school community.

Elementary School Choir

Our Elementary School Choir, open to students in Grades 4 and 5 and led by Ricky Sasson, is a dynamic, full-year program that nurtures a love of singing and performance. Through weekly rehearsals, students build vocal technique, musicality, and confidence while working together as an ensemble.

Throughout the year, choir members have opportunities to perform and share their progress, culminating in a special end-of-year showcase that celebrates their hard work and growth. Each year also features the creation of a unique music video, highlighting a meaningful song and giving students an exciting, creative way to shine.
