JBHS Students Create Their Own Artworks Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky and Henri Matisse

December 31, 2021 -

This week, JBHS held another workshop in the Art for All series! Art for All brings a different master artist each month to teach our students different artistic techniques. JBHS faculty member and Art for All Coordinator, Mia Erdos, led students in a lesson based on two artists: Wassily Kandinsky and Henri Matisse. Participants looked at artist Wassily Kandinsky and learned how he created paintings while listening to music. Then they listened to some music to inspire their paintings. The students also incorporated artist Henri Matisse’s cut-out technique, which had them adding an element of collage to their paintings. Our students look forward to the next meeting after break!
