This week was the conclusion of Lower Division's Hebrew Week, which celebrated Friendship. At the start of Hebrew Week, teachers received heart shaped cards; when a student demonstrated friendship, his/her name was written on the card and added to a chain in the classroom. At the end of the week, each student who demonstrated friendship received a prize. Students learned the Hebrew Week theme song, celebrating friendship, with music teachers Sylvia Schwartz and Erica Shaposhnik.
All students visited the Hebrew Week room. Each grade read a different classic Hebrew book and had a different interactive experience in the room based on the story. At the end of the visit they each received a snack that was related to the book's theme. They also had an opportunity to enter into a raffle to win a new book.
To make the week even more special, parents came to visit their child's class and read a book in Hebrew. The culminating activity took place today, as students wore shirts with Hebrew words and slogans, many of which they created themselves! Thank you to Lower Division Torah Studies Curriculum Supervisor Chani Gratzman, and our Bnot Sherut Hila and Rotem for creating this experience for our students.
