Condolences

"ואלה שמות בני ישראל: These are the names of Bnei Yisrael."

Four teams of students representing the Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School recently won high honors in this year's WordWright Challenge, a national competition for high school students requiring close reading and analysis of many different kinds of prose and poetry, in the second meet, held in December.

As part of our partnership with Teach NYS (a nonpartisan organization that works closely with the Orthodox Union to lobby for funding for non-public schools), YOF hosted Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein this week.

Mrs. Srour’s class 5-338 joined Mrs. Bunick’s class 2-308 to partner on two special projects.

In celebration of Tu B’Shvat, Mrs. Naomi Gez’s class 3-204 made a fruit doll.

Fourth and fifth grade students participated in an assembly to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The assembly began with a simulated protest march, followed by a poetry reading and quote analysis.

On winter vacation, 55 JBHS students along with Rabbi Naftali Besser, Mrs. Susan Franco, Rabbi David Galpert, and Ms. Tziri Lamm, travelled to Israel to participate in this year’s 17th annual Chesed Mission.
