Zoom Instructions for Students

How do I join a class on Zoom?

1. Click on the link that your teacher sends you.

2. The next step depends on your device:

   1. If you are on a Chromebook, you will be in the class meeting automatically. Just click Join The Meeting

   2. If you using a computer (Mac or PC):

      1. You will be asked to click to download a file. 

      2. After it downloads, double click on it and it will invite you to join a meeting.  Use the teacher’s 10 digit number or the end of their personal link (e.g. if the link is https://flatbush.zoom.us/my/bkramer4 - just type bkramer4)

   3. If you are using a phone,

      1. You will be asked to download the zoom app

      2. After it loads, click “get” or “Open”

      3. Click the  “join a meeting” button.  

      4. Type the name or number of your teachers’ meeting.

         1. Enter the teacher’s 10 digit number at the end of the link or 

         2. Click “Join with a personal link name” and type the end of their personal link (e.g. if the link is https://flatbush.zoom.us/my/bkramer4 - just type bkramer4)
            
            

What can I do in the Zoom Class (after you log in, see the bottom of your Screen)

1. Your teacher will probably have your sound muted 

2. You can click on Chat 

   1. You might be able to send a personal message to the teacher

   2. You might also be able to send a comment to the whole class

3. You can Click Start Video to show your face to the class

4. You can click Participants and you can raise your hand and answer simple questions

1. Go to flatbush.freshdesk.com and place a help desk ticket to describe your issue.

2. Someone will get back to you.
