Summer Homework

Lower School Report Cards
Dear Parents,

We hope you are enjoying the summer break. We are pleased to inform you that report cards for the 21-22 school year are currently available online. Please take the time to review the report card with your child. Your personal investment is an essential component of your child's academic progress.

As mentioned for the fall report cards, we converted the report card to our Rediker System. The transition has proven to be very helpful, and we are confident that you will find the presentation more accessible and easier to understand. Please click here for information on how to view your child’s report card in Rediker.

Our standards-based report cards measure and communicate specific and accurate student progress against a set of academic standards, enabling parents to know precisely where their child stands as he or she progresses towards mastery of a specific skill. This type of reporting also provides consistency in learning from class to class. Additional benefits of standards-based grading include increased student motivation, resilience, responsibility, and individualized learning that supports enrichment and remediation wherever necessary. For more information regarding standards-based grading, please click here and here.

For more information regarding each academic and behavioral standard, please click the links below.

We hope you find this report card clear, transparent, and specific about your child's areas of strength and growth.

Please let us know if you have any feedback, questions, or concerns. Enjoy the summer!

Sincerely,

Rabbi Yahel Tsaidi

Lower School Summer Homework

Dear Parents,

We hope the first days of summer are finding you well and that you are enjoying a most welcome respite. Summer work is essential to maintain learning momentum and ensure skills are practiced. Please read the following carefully and guide your child through the process.

Several goals are reflected in the design and presentation of the summer work for this year:

  • Enable students to review material learned during the year.
  • Ensure all students have access to all the material throughout the summer.

All material was distributed during the last week of school. If you misplaced any of the materials, you will find the links below to a Google doc for each incoming grade level. Click your child’s incoming grade level to see all the work for the entire summer.

Incoming 2nd Grade

Incoming 3rd Grade

Incoming 4th Grade

Incoming 5th Grade

We hope this setup makes it simple for families to manage and for students to complete.

For General Studies questions, please email Rabbi Dr. David Saltzman at [email protected]. For Judaic Studies questions, please email Mrs. Chani Gratzman at [email protected].

Wishing everyone a safe, rejuvenating, and enjoyable summer.

Sincerely,

YOF LS Administration
