Over 800 Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School, Middle Division, faculty, parents, and alumni shined bright at the Celebrate Israel Parade. Our yellow shirts, beautifully designed by 11th grade student Sarah Dagmy, reflected our theme “Israel: a Shining Light Unto the World” "וּנְתַתִּי לְאוֹר גּוֹיִם, לִהְיוֹת יְשׁוּעָתִי עַד-קְצֵה הָאָרֶץ"
(ישעיהו מ"ט, ו')

Our banners and posters focused on the breakthrough and cutting-edge technological innovations that Israel has designed and which are shared all over the world. Some organizations depicted were for rescue and relief, such as Zaka, IsraAid and Dream Doctors; inventions that assist during times of need, such as Skysaver and Watergen; and quality of life, such as Rewalk, Orcam, Waze and Intel.

Thank you to liaison and coordinator Sra. Elena Birman, who oversaw every detail. We also thank Ms. Carolina Cohen, Ms. Dvora Greenfeld and Mr. Jason Novetsky who worked tirelessly to prepare our banners and posters and to the creator of our T-shirt, Sarah Dagmy. Thank you to Mr. Mike Gelber, who was in charge of our prestigious Color Guard and logistics of the AV squad.

We thank our administration, faculty and staff for their support and dedication. We commend all the students who gave of their time to make this an impressive, dignified and spirited presentation.

Yeshivah of Flatbush wishes the State of Israel a Happy 71st Birthday. May she continue to be a beacon of light in peace and safety!
