Yom Ha’atzmaut was a fantastic day last week at YOF with blue and white decorations throughout the building in celebration of Israel’s 71st birthday. Lower Division students enjoyed a performance presented by Bnot Sherut Hila and Rotem, Rabbi Sharoni’s class 5-336 pm, Mrs. Gluzman’s class 5-316, and Ms. Dean and Mrs. Ohayon’s class 3-206. The performance began with a flag demonstration followed by songs and dances based on the theme “What present should we give Israel for her birthday? Shalom (Peace), Simcha (Joy), and Achdut (Unity).” Under the direction of Sylvia Schwartz all students sang a song that they learned in honor of this year’s Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration. The students enjoyed dancing outside and blue and white donuts to make the day extra special. Thank you to Vered Cohen for making the atmosphere in the building so festive.
