FIRST Lego League Jr. Robotics Team Participates in Its First Competition

April 4, 2019
On Sunday, students in grades 1-5, as part of the FIRST Lego League Jr. Robotics, participated in a competition. This past month, the students have been working on solving different problems about how to survive on the moon.
For the competition on Sunday, students worked in teams to build a challenge-related model using LEGO WeDo. They created a poster to explain their project and presented their solution to the challenge to three judges.
Each participant received a medal and a certificate for their participation as well as an Amazon gift card!
The students learned so much from this program and look forward to the final two weeks of FIRST Lego League Jr. Thanks to the JBHS students who served as mentors for the younger students. The class is taught by Joey Berkowitz (HS 2017) and is part of the JBHS Pathfinders Program. Thank you to Norm Sutaria of FIRST and Dr. Christine Coleman for their support.
