This week, groups of students from our HS and MD under the guidance of JBHS Assistant Principal Mrs. Esther Hidary, and MD teachers Mrs. Deborah Brand and Rabbi Kalman
Nochlin spent the day in Albany lobbying for more state funding for STEM and security programs in Jewish Day Schools as part of the TeachNYS mission to Albany. There were over 700 students from around the state in attendance. Our students had the opportunity to have individual meetings with senators and/or assemblymen and observe Assembly while it was in session. YOF received a shoutout from Attorney General Letitia James.

Executive Director Rabbi Dr. Jeffrey Rothman was asked by Assemblyman Eichenstein to give the opening invocation in the Assembly chambers for the opening prayer that takes place in the beginning of each day's preceding. Click here to see the opening invocation delivered by Rabbi Rothman!
