JV Hockey Cannot Make Early Lead Stand UpThe Flatbush JV Boys Hockey team opened the 2019-20 season on Monday night (10/28), and jumped out to the early 1-0 lead against the SAR Sting. But, 3 unanswered third period goals from the visitors left Flatbush on the wrong end of a 5-2 score at the Aux Nest in Brooklyn, NY.

Head Coach Elliot Zakay's team features a high percentage of Freshman, and they came out of the gate with high energy right from the start. Two minutes in, Jake Laniado scored the first Flatbush goal of the season and the falcons had the early 1-0 lead. they held that lead for nearly half of the period before the Sting finally go one by Falcon keeper Morris Hanan. At the end of one period of play, the game was even, 1-1.

SAR soon grabbed the lead in the second period, but Flatbush responded with a game-tying goal from Ezra Habert on a feed from Marc Salame. the second period ended like the first, with the two squads all even, this time at 2-2.

the final period belonged to the SAR Sting. They scored three times, including a power play goal in the final minute of play, taking a 5-2 win with the back to the Bronx.
